Breathing as the key to inner strength

Breathwork, like yoga, has its origins in Eastern culture, but is known in many different cultures. In the past, only monks, yogis, spiritual leaders, rulers and the wealthy were familiar with breathwork. It was considered as something sacred and was practiced in ceremonies and rituals. Nowadays it is used as a relaxation and meditation practice, it helps to reduce mental stress and control anxiety and emotions. Even scientifically proven, breathing exercises lead to a higher release of happiness hormones and thus to the decrease of the stress hormone cortisol.
